When Eli was brought to the ER, his injuries were extremely serious.

  • Broken femur

  • Lacerated liver

  • One broken rib

  • Damage to his neck and spine (the full extent is still unknown)

  • Extensive internal muscle damage

  • Narrowing of an artery in his neck

  • Multiple fractures in his head and face

  • A small brain bleed

During the ambulance ride to the hospital, he was conscious at first, but had a seizure just as they arrived. He has not woken up since.

The team was able to stabilize him and get him intubated. They placed temporary pins in his femur to keep the bone in place and are using traction to prevent his leg from moving.

For now, they are unable to operate on his leg because of the brain bleed. He needs to be cleared by neurology before he can undergo any surgeries.

Thank you for keeping us up to date on Eli’s condition. I can’t imagine how hard this is and to have to write it all up for all us is an added burden but so appreciate the effort. Stay strong, keep the positive energy flowing, it really does help, E is young and a fighter. Please know we are thinking about all of you, praying for success with surgery tomorrow, and sending every bit of good juju and love 🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️
